Blackmore
Marty Blackmore, an award winning video cameraman and
photojournalist has 38 years of experience in still
photography, television production and news. His achievements
include service to commercial television, the U.S. Army
television team and independent producers as well as
full-scale television production companies. Marty has
taught photography and television production and has
served on the faculty of Penn Valley Community College
and on advisory committees for the Kansas City, Missouri
Magnet School programs.
Marty Blackmore is the co-owner and Cameraman/Director
of The Production Group. And, while maintaining a thriving
video production business he is still dedicated to building
the next generation of photographers. Marty has both
designed and taught the Still Photography courses for
Park University in suburban Kansas City.
Marty has traveled the world as the first Chief Motion
Picture Cameraman for the Army Television News Team.
He has also served as a combat cameraman in Vietnam,
as Senior Motion Picture Instructor at the U.S. Army
Signal School and the Senior Motion Picture Cameraman
for the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon.
For eight years, Marty was Chief Cameraman for WDAF-TV4,
the NBC affiliate in Kansas City. He was a founding
member of the award winning team which developed and
produced the "Thursday's Child" adoption series.
While on leave of absence from WDAF-TV, Marty spent
a year in Nigeria at the invitation of their government
in order to train camera operators and other technicians
prior to the launch of the Nigerian national television
network.
In Kenya and Tanzania, Marty will conduct daily workshops
in still and video photography. Marty will demonstrate
and teach the techniques which will make your photographs
or videos priceless in the most exciting classroom in
the world - On Safari!
Marty makes his home in Kansas City, Missouri.
